We first saw Cat's work in 2007 on her Myspace page and asked her to exhibit at The Illustration Gallery, alongside established illustrators such as Shaun Tan and Laura Carlin. We were struck by the beauty of Cat's artwork, which showed a remarkable maturity and confidence given her young age; she was only 16 at the time.

Cat says her influences are confusion, Rembrandt, Heinrich Clay, Raymond Briggs, Hérge, Dylan Thomas, Heath Robinson, ambiguity, perfection, shapes, patterns, faces, language and my frustrations with it, memories, imagination, everything!
