David has been a passionate artist since the age of two. He grew up in Massachusetts and travelled with a band before enrolling in the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He discovered a love for children's books while working as a shipping clerk for a book clearinghouse and published his first, The Bear's Toothache in 1972. Since then he's created dozens of wonderful books, including the celebrated Mole Music, which was a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Book of the Year. David lives in New Hampshire.
